Code Status is an educational emergency medicine simulation built around fictional patient cases, written for clinicians and medical learners. It is for training only and is not intended for real-world patient care, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making. Every patient, presentation, investigation, result, medication and procedure in it is fictional and authored for teaching.
It is not medical advice
Nothing in Code Status should be used to guide the care of an actual patient. It is not a clinical reference, it is not a diagnostic or treatment tool, and using it does not create a clinician-patient relationship or any professional relationship between you and us.
Code Status is not a health service. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or manage any real person, and it offers no decision support at the bedside. It does not connect to electronic health records, hospital systems, medical devices, or Apple Health, and it holds no health information about anyone.
It does not replace training, supervision, or local protocol. Clinical practice varies by institution, region, and resource setting, and your own department’s guidance governs. Case content reflects practice at the time it was written and is not maintained as a current clinical reference.

Scoring
A score reflects performance against one case’s authored rubric. It is not an assessment of clinical competence, is not a credential, and scores should be interpreted within the context of each individual case.
Who this is for
Code Status is intended for healthcare professionals and students. Any clinician role you set is a preference that changes how the app addresses you. It is not verified and grants nothing.
Your account
The app creates an anonymous account so your progress is saved, and you may upgrade it by signing in. You are responsible for the security of the account you sign in with. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have it.
Subscriptions
Some cases require a subscription, and it can be bought in two places. We never see or store your card details in either one.
In the app. Apple sells and bills it through your Apple Account. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and it is managed and cancelled in your Apple Account settings. We cannot approve or reverse an Apple charge, and refund requests go to Apple. On Android, Google Play sells and bills it through your Google Account on the same renewal terms; it is managed and cancelled in Google Play’s Subscriptions, and refunds follow Google Play’s refund policy.
On this website. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, bills it. It renews automatically until cancelled, and it is managed and cancelled from the Premium page once you sign in. For anything that page cannot do, email us from the address you subscribed with.
The free cases remain free and are a complete experience, not a trial.
Acceptable use
Use Code Status for your own education. Do not copy, redistribute, or republish case content, attempt to extract it, or use it to build a competing product. Do not present it as clinical guidance to anyone else.
Our content
All case content, artwork, audio, and software in Code Status belongs to us or our licensors. Your subscription is a license to use it, not a transfer of ownership.
Availability
We may add, change, or remove cases and features, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We will not remove access to free cases for existing users without notice.
Disclaimer and liability
Code Status is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
