Code Status is written by someone who works the shift it simulates.

Most medical education asks you to recognize a diagnosis. Almost none of it asks you to decide under a clock, with an incomplete history and a patient who is changing while you think. That gap is what this is for.

Every case arrives the way a real one does: a complaint, not a diagnosis. You take the history, order what you can justify, commit to a call, and live with the disposition. The patient responds to what you actually did, not to what you should have done.

The teaching comes after, not instead. Attending’s Notes explains what mattered and why, and cites 10 sources per case, linked to the originals, so the reasoning can be checked rather than taken on faith.
